Our background & craft

A lifetime of building, fabricating and welding

Christopher Hardin grew up learning to weld, cut, and shape steel alongside his father, building a grounded understanding of joint strength, torch technique, and practical mechanics from an early age. That early hands-on foundation instilled a deep respect for durable trade craft and direct problem solving.

Over the decades that followed, his fabrication career spanned custom motorcycles, performance automotive components, artistic metalwork, heavy equipment repairs, and commercial structural projects. Backed by 20 years of precision exhibit manufacturing for the Silicon Valley tech museum, Christopher brings seasoned technical judgment and mobile welding capability straight to your jobsite or home across San Jose and the South Bay.

Fabrication & Field Experience

Welding experience that goes beyond the weld

Christopher Hardin brings a multidisciplinary trade background to every project, combining deep metallurgical process knowledge, careful joint preparation, and hands-on problem solving across custom fabrication and mobile repairs.

Capability 01/Custom & Automotive

Custom metal fabrication, automotive, and motorcycle work

Christopher Hardin's background encompasses custom metal fabrication, automotive chassis modifications, and precision motorcycle builds where tight tolerances and structural strength intersect.

From custom exhaust runs and structural bracketry to specialized sheet metal components, every weld is placed to withstand relentless road vibration and mechanical stresses.

Capability 02/Structural & Repairs

Structural assemblies, heavy equipment, and field repairs

Broad field experience across structural steel, construction machinery, trailers, and industrial equipment guarantees that every on-site repair restores full structural capacity.

Projects are evaluated by analyzing physical load paths, ensuring complete root penetration, and reinforcing fatigued sections for long-term service.

Capability 03/Fitting & Artistry

Precision fitting, joint preparation, and artistic metalwork

High-caliber metalwork begins long before the arc is ignited—demanding exact beveling, tight mechanical fit-up, and clean aesthetic lines for architectural and artistic pieces.

Meticulous edge cleaning and beveling eliminate defects, while steady puddle control produces uniform, clean bead profiles that look right and perform properly.

Capability 04/Metallurgy & Process

Application analysis, alloy selection, and distortion control

Christopher determines the exact service environment, selects the optimal alloy and process (MIG, TIG, or Stick), and actively regulates thermal heat input across the joint.

Careful sequencing, backstepping, and rigid clamping prevent warping and metallurgical embrittlement, delivering assemblies that remain true to spec.

If it can be built with metal, Christopher has probably built something like it
